NEW BUILD - IWT

I was fortunate enough to go on a tour of the new building which we are designing for on Monday, so I thought I should put some photos up so people can get a sense of what is inside and the spaces which we could be working towards.

Second Floor

One of three patterned concrete pillars, based on a pattern taken from the School of Arts history, another set are situated on the fourth floor near where a lecture theatre and exhibition space will be.

Behind the pillar is one of two 'lanterns', where the light will shine across the diagonal right through the building when the sun shines from the south, allowing the building to be filled with light.

View from the 3rd floor looking into what will be the entrance and reception area.

The courtyard area, with part of the Chatham building being there as the back wall of the courtyard, behind the crane support.

Roof terrace, where you can see the two lanterns and also a botany area where there will be a few plants.

View of the roof terrace and the new build from the 8th floor of Chatham.
